Earthjustice Pesticide Campaign

February 18, 2010

NEW YORK CITY – Just finished this video for an Earthjustice campaign geared to protect rural children from pesticides.

Each year, nearly one billion pounds of pesticides are sprayed into fields and orchards around the country. As the families who live nearby can tell you, those pesticides don’t always stay in the fields and orchards.

Most of the footage was shot on flipCams and the music was written and donated by the very awesome Dougie Bowne.

This is such a moving, disturbing story. I knew there was indiscriminate spray landing on the food crops in Colombia, and directly on children as well, as they go to school near fields airbombed with Paraquat. What I didn’t understand before was that the children in this country were also under attack. Thank you for the video. Children everywhere deserve protection.
